Over the years, I have met a several people, who never leave their office for lunch. I find this curious. Especially during beautiful weather. Naturally, I have asked these folks why on earth they don’t step out for a little walk and some fresh air. Most, just seem enslaved to their desk and computer. One, had a false sense of guilt—like, if she took lunch she’d be seen as goofing off and would certainly be fired. Dude?!
In the end, they all realized it is only themselves sucking the minutes of potential joy out of their life. No one was forcing them to stay chained to their desk, other than themselves. This realization then really made them wonder where else in their lives, they didn’t allow themselves to have any fun, to take a break, to stop and enjoy just one guilt-free hour of doing nothing, but just being, walking and enjoying the beauty of the present moment.
Each of us, is only given a certain number of living moments—make each one count! Looking back on your life, how many moments did you really enjoy, and how many moments were you miserable, just passing time? How are you going to spend the rest of your remaining moments? Start adding color and enjoyment into life by taking your lunch hour and making it fun! Remember, you are the boss of your time and your life. In the end, your life is what YOU make it.
Up top, are stills from my lunch time walk, from today. Thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing and happy-making for all of my senses. So worth leaving the desk for.
